First Paper Assignment

Your assignment is to take one of the films that we have seen during the first five weeks of the quarter, and compare it to another, related film from the lists provided below. The other films listed are either from the same director, from the same period, or influentially related to the films we have seen in class.

The paper should be 5 pages long, double-spaced; it should discuss the formal structures and themes of the two films, as well as putting them in the historical context of Hollywood and/or worldwide filmmaking in the 1960s and 1970s.
